aBOUT THE CHEF
Chef Karo Patpatyan
Born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1982, Karo Patpatyan moved to Los Angeles, California with his parents in 1988. From a young age, Karo showed a keen interest in cooking, preferring cooking shows over cartoons. At 14, during a family trip to Paris, he worked at his uncle’s restaurant near the Champs-Elysees and fell in love with the culinary industry.
Upon returning to Los Angeles, Karo began helping his mother and grandmother in the kitchen. By 17, he graduated early from high school and attended Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Pasadena, working as a banquet chef by day and studying by night.
After graduating, Karo landed a line cook position at Wolfgang Puck’s Café in West Hollywood and was quickly promoted to Sous Chef. When the café closed, he joined Spago in Beverly Hills, swiftly advancing through various kitchen roles to become Sous Chef and eventually Kitchen Manager.
In 2015, after 13 years with Wolfgang Puck, Karo became the Executive Chef at Artisan House in Downtown Los Angeles, where he emphasized California-inspired cuisine with fresh, local ingredients. Two years later, he took on the role of Executive Chef at the Mayfair Hotel.
After the Mayfair Hotel closed due to COVID, Chef Karo continued his culinary journey with Blackberry Bliss Restaurant.
